Purchasing Manager

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for always maintaining a proper level of inventory by purchasing raw materials, consumables, and any supplies or materials used, schedule delivery times, and oversee those inventory levels. The PM is responsible for overseeing material handler technicians who receive the materials into inventory and keep accurate counts of those materials. The PM will work with other management to source, compare prices and investigate quality issues.

Requirements

• Requires strong planning and organizational skills.
• 3-5 years experience in purchasing or procurement, or any combination.
• 1-2 years of experience in inventory control or similar field (not required but desired.)
• Must be able to estimate purchases based on sales projections.
• Requires intermediate knowledge and/or experience in supply management.
• Knowledge of data analytics and finance.
• Skilled in communication and negotiation, both written and verbal.
• Able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes.
• Ability to work with all management levels and material handlers.
• May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Requires standing, sitting, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, leaning, squatting, and repetitive motions to perform duties.
• Must travel to a vendor, customer or other locations as needed.
• Must have a valid driver's license and always keep a clean MVR acceptable to our commercial auto insurance.
• Must be able to pass a DOT Physical and drug screen and maintain DOT requirements.
• Must speak, write, read, understand, and communicate clearly in English.
• Must give permission to do a background check.
