Assistant Purchasing Manager

The Assistant Purchasing Manager will oversee the activities of the Purchasing and inventory at Blackshear and Assist Alma. Issue and Maintain Work Order PM’s for both Locations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the Blackshear Location.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability.
• Maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used with a Min/Max.
• Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
• Collaborates with machine shop, operations supervisors for Work Order completion and compliance and needs for the operation.
• Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
• Develops and implements reports related to Work Orders Performed and Inventory Control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED, required.
• Five years of buying or purchasing experience with supervisory experience, preferred.
• Previous experience in a Mill/Manufacturing environment, preferred.
• Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
• Will be required to split work time at both locations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Purchasing: 5 years (Required)
