The Assistant Purchasing Manager will oversee the activities of the Purchasing and inventory at Blackshear and Assist Alma. Issue and Maintain Work Order PM’s for both Locations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the Blackshear Location.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability.
- Maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used with a Min/Max.
- Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
- Collaborates with machine shop, operations supervisors for Work Order completion and compliance and needs for the operation.
- Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
- Develops and implements reports related to Work Orders Performed and Inventory Control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Five years of buying or purchasing experience with supervisory experience, preferred.
- Previous experience in a Mill/Manufacturing environment, preferred.
- Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
- Will be required to split work time at both locations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
