Samoa is looking to add an additional buyer to our team! This role will be responsible for the purchase of equipment, supplies, and services necessary for manufacturing and the general operations of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing relationships and negotiating with suppliers - including quotes, prices, payment terms, specifications, availability and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with operations and manufacturing to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner and meeting quality specifications, including current and new product development.
  • Update ERP system with current information (costs, expected delivery dates, lead times, minimum order quantities, safety stock, quantity price breaks, etc.). Analyze data and prepare various reports around inventory needs and trends.
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders, receive and manage acknowledgments from Suppliers.
  • Acquire and maintain technical understanding of products purchased.
  • Interact with vendors and internal departments for status updates, scheduling, purchasing procedures, and problem resolution - including quality and delivery issues.
  • Interact with other buyers (peers) in the company to share best practices and methods.
  • Remain current on economic, industrial, and other trends that may affect prices and market.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in MANUFACTURING
Additional combination of 4 years education and/or relevant work experience
Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge in: Ability to use computer and mobile devices
Knowledge in: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
