Job Description
Responsible and accountable for the administration of comprehensive respiratory care services with a focus on the pulmonary function or pulmonary rehab and for appropriate documentation in the medical record of the therapy provided. Advises medical staff on appropriate types of therapeutic modalities and continuum of care.
• Requires current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
• Requires graduation from a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
• Requires Healthcare Provider Certification. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• May require registration as a (RPFT) Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist within two years of hire date.
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential by the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) preferred.
• Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist credential by the NBRC preferred.
• Preferred ACLS; PALS; and/or NRP certification. Requires basic computer skills and ability to work with EMR.
