Form of workWe are seeking a highly motivated, organized individual with a proven track record of success to join our Financial Services group on the Authority Building Team (ABT). The Public Relations Specialist will help grow brand awareness and media placement for Red Ventures and its category-leading financial services websites including Bankrate and CreditCards.com. Our experts regularly appear on national television outlets such as ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, Fox Business and many others. Our properties are also a fixture in print (The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, etc.) and on the radio (NPR, ABC News Radio, CBS Radio and more).
This is a hybrid role to be based out of either our South Charlotte area office or our NYC office on a hybrid basis with three days required in office each week (Tuesday-Thursday).
What You'll Do:
- Write and edit strategic news releases and pitches for distribution to media sources
- Maintain relationships with reporters to garner positive coverage in all types of media, including print, broadcast and online
- Data analysis of national survey results
- Provide rapid responses to media inquiries, ensuring that reporters get accurate and appropriate information
- Secure and manage interviews with national and local print and broadcast media
- Develop innovative approaches to distribute content, improve media engagement and promote the company
- Plan and execute media tours
- Analyze performance data and media coverage to evaluate brand authority
- Develop and manage media lists and databases
- Prepare spokespeople for media interviews and help develop talking points
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of Public Relations experience
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strategic and creative thinker
- Strong time management skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Uses data to drive strategy, experience with data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, etc.)
- Highly motivated and organized
- Staying on top of news trends, including personal finance and economy news
- Bachelor's Degree in a related area: Journalism, Communications or related field
Compensation
- CLT Cash Compensation Range: $55,000-$85,000*
- NYC Compensation Range: $68,750-$100,000
- Note: actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
