FEMA Public Assistance Electrical Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a FEMA Public Assistance Electrical Engineer. In this critical role, you will be responsible for evaluating and providing technical expertise on electrical infrastructure projects submitted by applicants for FEMA Public Assistance programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering, knowledge of FEMA regulations, and the ability to assess and validate project eligibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Site Visits - Conduct site visits as necessary to assess damage and/or the physical implementation of Electrical Engineering projects and verify their alignment with submitted documentation.
  • Technical Evaluation - Review and assess electrical infrastructure project submissions for FEMA Public Assistance programs, ensuring compliance with FEMA guidelines and regulations. Provide technical expertise in evaluating the design, specifications, and implementation of electrical systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Stay current on FEMA policies, guidelines, and regulations related to electrical infrastructure projects for Public Assistance programs. Interpret and apply FEMA regulations to assess the eligibility of Electrical Engineering components in submitted projects.
  • Collaboration - Work closely with Applicants, FEMA representatives, and other engineering professionals to validate and document the eligibility of Electrical Engineering projects. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure a comprehensive review of multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Documentation Validation - Validate and document Electrical Engineering components of projects, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or missing information. Collaborate with Applicants to ensure the accuracy and completeness of technical documentation.
  • Communication - Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Work with FEMA representatives to clarify technical aspects of projects and address any concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Previous experience with FEMA Public Assistance is a plus.

SKILLS:
Strong technical proficiency in Electrical Engineering principles, design, and implementation.
Familiarity with relevant software and tools for Electrical Engineering analysis and design.
In-depth understanding of FEMA regulations and guidelines related to electrical infrastructure projects for Public Assistance programs.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, applicants, and FEMA representatives.
Capacity to adapt to changing guidelines, regulations, and disaster response scenarios.

Compensation for these positions is based on experience, background, and skills. Travel & lodging expenses are reimbursed according to rates published in GSA.gov.
