Our new Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator will support Environmental Data Platforms and be responsible for handling a wide range of marketing support tasks that includes preparing content, promoting that content through traditional and digital PR, coordinating our brand presence and messaging for industry events, executing campaign tactics through HubSpot, and supporting our sales teams.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and will report directly to our Senior Marketing Manager who oversees Demand Generation. This candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with key business lines and help implement marketing strategy with a business line Marketing Manager. In addition, the successful candidate will be exceedingly well-organized, flexible, and enjoy the organizational challenges of supporting a fast-paced work environment.
We have expanded into Canada, Australia and Europe (Sweden and Germany) so multinational experience, or the interest to gain that experience, is encouraged.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a key member of the Marketing team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Marketing Coordination
  • Supports and collaborates with graphic designers, copywriters, and videographers on sales/marketing projects including event messaging support, market and customer research, targeted sales initiatives, promotional material content development, and value proposition material support
  • Develops content including flysheets, email blasts, SOQs, blog articles, and social media content
  • Maintains promotional materials and corporate identity materials (business cards, letterheads, envelopes, etc.) by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
  • Participates in planning and execution of marketing and branding initiatives
Public Relations Coordination
  • Writing and distributing detailed press releases, promotional social media posts, and fact sheets
  • Cultivating strong relationships with media outlets and journalists to ensure efficient communication and maximum coverage
  • Analyzing the outcome of Public Relations campaigns and reporting the findings to management
  • Maintaining an up-to-date press list of journalists, influencers, and other members of the media.
CRM and Marketing Automation Administration
  • Researches and communicates best practices, discrepancies, and SOPs to CRM users;
  • Maintains contact quality and deduplication;
  • Reports on status and deal pipeline;
  • Manages the HubSpot e-marketing database;
  • Creates landing pages, email marketing templates, etc. in conjunction with Marketing Managers

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
This is a remote position with a preference for candidates near Chapel Hill, NC, Durham, NC, Raleigh, NC, or Phoenix, AZ
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • B.S. or B.A. in marketing, communications, journalism or related field preferred
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in marketing coordination, executive administration, data management, or similar duties (preferably in sales or marketing areas);
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows-based environment and professional level experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Proficiency with Social Media Marketing and Management
  • Familiarity with key marketing software, including HubSpot, Asana, Google Workspace, Salesforce and Canva
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a matrix reporting structure;
  • Self-directed;

  • Able to establish priorities and work independently;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and the highest degree of professionalism;
  • Available for travel when required (minimal);
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines;

  • Understand and follow written and verbal directions;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
  • Ability to work overtime as required;
  • Current, valid, unrestricted driver's license (required)
