Public Relations Intern

Employment Dates: Mid May through mid August (specific dates to be determined in collaboration with supervisor, based on availability and company need)

Location: Greater Denver area is preferred, but remote-work candidates will also be considered

Hours: The intern will work approximately 30 hours per week

Compensation: This is a paid internship

Nokian Tyres seeks a Public Relations Intern with a passion and skill for writing and a desire to work in the marketing or PR fields. This team member will report to the Senior Manager of Communications and Content, who is a member of the Nokian Tyres North America marketing team. Nokian Tyres seeks a talented, hard-working communicator who loves content creation and wants to work alongside a close-knit, agile team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a copywriter for company marketing and communications materials, including but not limited to blog posts, internal articles and press releases
• Help develop and maintain media and influencer contact lists
• Participate in regular marketing team meetings
• Assist with other marketing and communications projects as needed, including possible company events

Requirements

• Rising college junior or senior majoring in Public Relations, marketing, communications, journalism or a related field
• Strong writing skills, as demonstrated in two (2) writing samples to be submitted with the internship application
• Availability for weekly one-on-one meetings with the Senior Manager of Communications and Content, in person when possible
• Objective to work in Public Relations and/or marketing after graduation
• Desire to work on a small, collaborative, dynamic marketing team

Submission Requests

Along with the application, all candidates are asked to submit:

• A cover letter (3-4 paragraphs) that expresses the applicant’s goals, skills and reason for applying
• Two (2) writing samples that showcase strong writing skills. This can be published work, pieces submitted for class projects or other materials that demonstrate copywriting abilities
• One (1) letter of reference from someone who can speak to the applicant’s writing abilities, collaboration skills and demeanor
