The Public Relations Department seeks an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to the Public Relations Manager and to various key members from other Departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist department in carrying out various duties including but not limited to:
A. Assists in coordinating and planning of parades, festivals, events, and sponsorship programs.
B. Assist in preparation, organization, and distribution of fact sheets, news releases, and other material to media representatives and other persons who may be interested in learning about or publicizing the institution' s activities or message.
C. Maintains media information.
D. Responds to inquiries from the public and media representatives.
E. Provide internal and external customer service/support as needed.
F. Maintains files on all published information about the organization.
G. Filing, copying and other office functions.
H. Review incoming mail prior to manager
I. Composes and prepares routine correspondence and reports.
J. Arranges attendees for corporate events.
K. Maintains and updates departments budget.
L. Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed
Knowledge and Skills:
The position requires a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, dedication to customer service and computer literacy. The candidate must be well organized, sensitive to handling confidential information, flexible and highly results and detail oriented and capable of effectively managing multiple tasks.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school, or (1) one year to (2) years’ experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience. As with all promotions/ appointment must be flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed. A more detailed job description (including ADA job requirements) is available in the Human Resources Department.
