Responsible for assisting the Public Health Coordinator (PHC) in the coordination, planning, and implementation of Public Health Emergency Preparedness plans and programs. Responds to Public Health emergencies as directed, assists in coordination of grants, and updates Health Department emergency plans. The PHC Assistant would also assist the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Coordinator in the recruitment and orientation of new MRC volunteers, promote MRC and Emergency Preparedness programs at community events, participate in relevant training opportunities, and perform additional Public Health duties as assigned.
This position is a grant funded position and covers approximately fifteen (15) hours per week.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Prefer Public Health background or a student majoring in Public Health, Public Health administration, environmental health, or related field. Public health experience and NIMS certifications are desired.
