The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is tasked with the oversight of communities within Illinois to achieve and maintain optimal health and safety. Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide project management for Antimicrobial Stewardship projects and initiatives. Oversees design and implementation of educational programs and campaigns for Antimicrobial Stewardship. Works to integrate, enhance, and expand Antimicrobial Stewardship best practices across all healthcare settings. Develops, implements, and evaluates activities for Antibiotic Awareness Week. Serves as programmatic point of contact and lead for Antimicrobial Stewardship-related grants. Develops, compiles, and disseminates Antimicrobial Stewardship resources. Participates in developing and managing grants.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides project management for initiatives to promote appropriate antimicrobial prescribing and use in Illinois.
  • Develops and implements Antimicrobial Stewardship communication campaigns and educational programs.
  • Develops, compiles, and disseminates resources on appropriate antimicrobial use for professional and lay audiences.
  • Participates in developing and managing grants for the HAI/AR program.
  • Solicits interns and fellows for Antimicrobial Stewardship projects.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a master's degree in Public Health education or related area or requires certification as a certified health education specialist by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing.
  • Requires one-year professional experience in Public Health education or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of direct work experience in developing, planning, and implementing projects or collaboratives in a Public Health, community, or healthcare organization.
  • Two years of experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, and adapting to evolving needs with high attention to deadlines.
  • Two years of experience developing written products and oral presentations for professional audiences.
  • Two years of experience collecting, managing, analyzing, and presenting data.
  • One year of professional experience with REDCap.
