POSITION:PT - Student Leadership and Activities Specialist

SALARY:$ 15.00 per hourQUALIFICATIONS:Required:• Associate degree in education, psychology, technology, or a related field or at least two years of verifiable educational or professional experience in office administrative or education.
• Proficient in note-taking and computer technology.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with a diverse internal and external community.

Preferred:• Community College Administrative experience.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish and English.
• Experience with Qualtrics.Additional Eligibility Requirements:• Valid Driver’s License

Classification:• Non-exemptPosition Type & Work Schedule:• Part-time up to 19.5 hours per week
• Monday through Thursday
• Some nights and weekends required
• 12 months per yearKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
• General knowledge of the community college and its philosophy
• Knowledge of computers and proficiency utilizing computer databases and also Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Outlook for email and calendar
• Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful
manner
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with a diverse population
• Ability to exercise and demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, tact, discretion, diplomacy, assertiveness, and strong customer service skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to
detail
• Ability to multi-task in a high-traffic environment

Work Environment:• Indoors, moderate noise, fluorescent lighting, some outdoor activity.

Physical Demands:• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
• May lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy (at least 25 pounds) amounts of weight
• Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
Travel:• May be required to travel to other locations using various modes of private, commercial, or fleet transportation

• Not benefit eligibleSUMMARY OF FUNCTION:The Student Leadership and Activities Specialist serves students by providing day-to-day support for the Offices of Student Activities. This position maintains a high standard of confidentiality and is fundamental in providing office, student, and staff supportTYPICAL DUTIES:Serves students. Assists in providing exemplary programs and services designed to enhance student’s success and the overall student experience. Provides administrative/clerical support to all identified areas within Student Activities. This includes documentation management, answering telephones, calendar management, copying, filing, running errands, facility work orders, program inventory, and ordering office and gaming area supplies.
Supports the coordination and implementation of Student Activities, events, and Student Activity Board training and events. Under the leadership of the Coordinator of Student Leadership and Activities, supports the promotion of a comprehensive campus events calendar including but not limited to all programming and events.
Assists in the Student Leadership and Activities office operations, including but not limited to receiving, reviewing, and processing club documents, supporting with charter procedures, activity request procedures, food waivers, and other critical club-related documents.
In collaboration with Student Activities, oversees Engage alerts, updates, and develops applications, websites, brochures, and marketing materials. Requests, completes and organizes analytic reports in regards to student surveys. Establishes program outcome measures, including but not limited to surveys, student groups, and feedback opportunities.
In collaboration with Student Activities leaders, assists in the coordination and connection to community service and out-of-classroom opportunities.
In collaboration with the Coordinator of Student Leadership and Activities, assist in developing plans to increase general school spirit through a variety of events, activities, and training.
Acts as a support staff and resource liaison for students, staff, and public entities.
Supports and participates in strategic planning initiatives and committees. Performs other duties as assigned.
