Front Desk/Guest Services Representative(Multiple facilities and various shifts available)

Hours: Primarily morning and evening shifts available. Working at either Main Street or Spring Ave. Recreation Centers or both.
Day shifts are generally 8:30 am -1:30 pm, Evening shifts are Mon. – Thurs. 3:30 pm – 8:00 pm and rotating Saturdays
from 9:00 am - Noon.

Spring Ave. Recreation Center – 185 Spring Ave., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the FT Registration & Guest Services Coordinator, the Front Desk/Guest Services Representative is primarily responsible for providing quality customer service to anyone who enters the building or calls the office seeking information or assistance. This includes frequent interaction with the public and park district staff to promote programs and services, perform program registration transactions, reserve rooms, prepare and process mail, and assist with clerical support for management staff. Additional duties include but are not limited to; informing program participants of class cancellations or changes, handling and balancing cash and other POS transactions, typing, data entry, filing, maintaining confidential information, assisting with special events, and performing other duties as assigned. This is an at-will position.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING:
- The ideal candidate will be a people person who is outgoing, friendly, and dependable with a desire to serve others.
- Previous customer service and/or office experience is highly desired.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff and the public both verbally and in writing.
- Solid computer and keyboard skills required with the aptitude to learn a multi-layered recreation software application.
- Strong general math skills with cash handling experience highly desired.
- Accuracy and the ability to follow through on detailed work is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to shift between tasks.
- Effective problem-solving skills with the capacity to act calmly and effectively under pressure or in difficult situations.
- Must be a self-starter who is dependable, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- High School graduate or equivalent is preferred with some college or similar training and experience helpful.
- Capacity to project a professional appearance and maintain confidential information.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certified, or able to obtain when provided by the GEPD.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
