Part Time Preschool Prep Teacher Assistant - 2023/2024 School Year
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 10 hours Early Childhood classes and minimum one year experience working with preschool children. High School Diploma.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to follow directions.
- Demonstrate initiative, dependability, good judgment, tact, leadership, and the capability to work in a positive manner with the students, their families, and other Park District staff.
- CPR/AED certification preferred.
HOURS:
Monday - Thursday from 9:15am - 11:15am
School year runs from September 2023 - May 2024
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Assist the teacher with the Two's class
-Assist the teacher with daily preparation and cleanup, including checking and maintaining supplies, materials, and equipment.
-Supervise and participate in all classroom activities.
-Review class activities with the teacher on a daily and weekly basis.
-Prepare projects and materials in advance.
-Establish a positive and nurturing relationship will all children in the program.
-Inform the teacher of all accidents/ incidents and assist the teacher in completing all necessary forms.
-Participate in required number of hours of in-service or outside training opportunities as required by the Preschool Director.
-Maintain current certification for First Aid and CPR.
-Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
-Supports and exhibits the established organizational values of respect, communication, integrity, innovation, recognition, continuous learning, fun, empowerment and people.
-Work as scheduled.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
-Attend in-service training and workshops to promote knowledge in related areas of responsibility.
-Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
RATE OF PAY:
14.00/HR

May be exposed to noise distractions from employees or equipment being operated in adjacent work areas.

CONSIDERATIONS: Able to follow directions and effectively use oral and verbal communication skills.
Possess good organizational skills and the ability to read and understand printed material.
