Refugee Employment Case Manager, Matching Grant

Hours: Full-time (40-hours/week)

The Matching GrantCase Manager will primarily be responsible for providing culturally, comprehensive case management services to refugees within the program. This individual is will also provide transportation for refugees within the clients first six months of arrival. The Matching GrantCase Manager will carry an assigned caseload as well as maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of all provided services in accordance with all agency expectations, licensing requirements, and contract terms.
 
This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide culturally, comprehensive case management services in accordance to the respective program handbook and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Matching Grant Guidelines;
  • Maintain a caseload in compliance with agency expectations, licensing requirements, and contract terms;
  • Provide transportation to clients for but not limited to medical appointments, employment, and other external parties, as needed;
  • Assist clients with finding available employment and identify barriers to employment to successfully overcome;
  • Ensure the appropriate referrals are made for the clients related to work skills classes, English Language Learner (ELL), DHHS, and other agencies as needed;
  • Provide bus training for new client arrivals;
  • Complete and document all required reports, case notes, and case contacts in the appropriate database in accordance with the expected time frames and requirements; 
  • Attend weekly meetings with supervisor to consult on cases, and to review case plan and direction;
  • Provide support to volunteers from sponsoring congregation's and community groups by responding to questions and other relevant information;
  • Stay abreast of community resources and refer families for support as needed; 
  • Maintain effective communication with community resources and individuals involved in providing service provisions to clients;
  • Keep abreast of all agency, federal and state regulatory requirement s related to social services; 
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field of study from an accredited college;
  • At least one (1) year of prior case management experience in child and family services; 
  • Multi-lingual: English, Kinyarwanda, and/or Swahili;
  • Demonstrated ability to service a difference group of clients, to include refugees; 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills;
  • Demonstrated ability with providing compassionate customer service;
  • Must have an ability to make mature and stable judgment as well as sensitivity to various cultures and the unique history of refugees;
  • Knowledge of state, community and agency resources;
  • Must be highly organized and able to meet time sensitive deadlines;
  • Must be a team player and work collaboratively with others;
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
  • Computer skillssufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of MicrosoftOffice suite;
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver'slicense with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate avehicle on behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurancecoverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith and Mission Statement.
