Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Psychology Fellow.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing assessments on adults and children undergoing inpatient work-ups for intractable seizures, and on both inpatients, and outpatients with out etiologies
Job Responsibilities:
- Assesses patients status and plans appropriate assessment accordingly with primary supervisor. Assesses the patients clinical and functional status thoroughly and correctly. Reviews the patients medical records as needed. Selects and applies the appropriate neuropsychological assessment tools during evaluation and re-evaluation. Utilizes interviewing skills that are tailored to evaluation needs. Designs evaluations to answer clinically relevant questions.
- Demonstrates continued proficiency in skills required to treat assigned patient population.
- Documents assessments and treatments rendered in accordance with department protocols. Documents patient evaluation in test reports, progress reports and other pertinent information properly, accurately and timely.
- Demonstrates skill in application of assessment techniques. Provides adequate rationale for treatment interventions. Communicates results of assessment findings and recommendations to staff and patient (when indicated) in a clear and understandable manner.
- Implements neuropsychological assessment and treatment plans for assigned patients as discussed with supervisor. Establishes a rapport with the patient. Uses medical, social and psychological information to plan assessment and treatment for patients. Develops appropriate treatment goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D./PsyD.) in Neuropsychology or Clinical Psychology. Limited permit to practice psychology in New York State. Coursework and clinical experience in neuropsychology. Supervised neuropsychology experience during internship or practicum. Completion of all requirements for Doctoral Degree in Psychology

Provide Department proof of application to NY State for Limited Permit upon hire
Obtain Limited Permit from NY State within 3 months of Date of Hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $63,935.04 - $100,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
