Our full time Medical Director’s get profit sharing in their clinic, so they have a vested interest in helping to build and grow the clinic. Mindful Health provides a full continuum of care offering medication management, therapy, Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, Spravato and Holistic Wellness options.

Position Summary

The Psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric services in the clinic location. Working under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment, the Psychiatrist will provide evaluations, medication management, diagnostics, and plan of care recommendations in person. The Psychiatrist will serve as a member of the treatment team, work collaboratively with others, and act as a partner to the team at the clinic location.

Education / Experience:

o M.D., or D.O., degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy in the US, or valid M.D. from a foreign school of medicine and have passed the ECFMG exam.

o Have completed an internship from an accredited graduate medical education program recognized by AMA (LCME) or AOA.

o Must have a valid and current medical license in Texas residency to practice psychiatry.

o Must have completed a psychiatric residency in an accredited residency program.

o Board Certified in Psychiatry preferred.

o Must have clearance through the National Practitioner Data Bank.

o Must not be precluded from participating in Medicare or Medicaid programs.

o Must be able to obtain and maintain licensure in multiple states.

o Must have a valid DEA number or the ability to obtain a DEA license in multiple states.

o Active CPR Certification

Principle Duties / Responsibilities:

o Evaluate and treat patients referred for assessing and treating neuropsychiatric conditions, behavioral health disorders, and comorbid conditions. Provide recommendations for assessment, treatment, and monitoring.

o Provide psychiatric care to patients upon referral per evidence-based standards and American Psychiatric Association practice guidelines.

o Provide follow-up care, medication management, and other therapies as appropriate, with clear and thorough documentation of indication and need.

o Document the appropriate diagnosis or diagnoses and recommend the optimal medication regimen. Optimize and streamline psychotropic medication regimens. Monitor and adjust psychotropic medications to optimize functioning and relieve symptom-related distress.

o Consult with primary care sites and providers, where indicated, to adjust and simplify medication regimens and treatment approaches.

o Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, or other professionals to discuss and integrate treatment plans and progress. Work with administrative staff.

o Supervision of nurse practitioners.

o Represent the company in business development opportunities, including collaboration with the sales team or other departments, to develop new business opportunities.

o Ensure the gathering and maintenance of patient information and records, including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals.

o Examine and/or recommend laboratory and diagnostic testing for general physical and mental health conditions.

o Record all notes, recommendations, and services provided in EHR/patient’s chart within 24 hours of a patient encounter, per policy.

o Prepare and submit case reports or summaries to governmental, insurance, or other health agencies, as required.

o Participate in the review of the quality of care provided for Mindful Health’s practice. When requested or required by Mindful Health, review and evaluate treatment procedures and outcomes of other clinicians.

o Cooperate in, prepare, submit, and maintain all documentation necessary for credentialing, privileging, insurance participation, billing, and record keeping.

o Participate in clinical and administrative meetings as may be required.

o Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

o Ability to diagnose and treat patients experiencing psychological distress and/or mental illness.

o Strong patient assessment and patient management skills.

o Excellent verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.

o Excellent written communication and documentation skills

o Ability to work flexible hours to meet facility and patient needs.

o Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

o Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

o Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

o Strong interpersonal skills.

o High integrity with excellent problem-solving abilities.

o Ability to operate a personal computer and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, web-based conferencing, and medical office software (electronic health record software).

o Understanding of and commitment to the appropriate protection of confidential patient information.

Benefits:

- 120 hours (15 days) of paid time off

- 40 hours (5 days of sick leave)
