Responsibilities/Tasks
The following are general responsibilities and tasks required by the provider. This is not an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities as provider may be asked to perform related work as needed:
- Performs medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, consultations and health education appropriate for the patient’s age and situation.
- Obtains patient histories and develops patient care charges, ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation.
- Orders, obtains and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Designs, orders and documents appropriate treatment plans/plans of care including prescriptions of medications based on a comprehensive review of HPI and diagnostic results.
- Communicates plan of care and collaborates with appropriate providers including the collaborative NP, the primary care provider, the referring provider and other staff and health care providers as required.
- Communicates plan of care with the patients and family members. Provides patient and family instruction related to the plan of care, disease process, new treatment plans, and medication regimens.
- Provides health education to patients and families as required and appropriate.
- Documents medical findings and care provided in the patient’s clinical record, including information of laboratory and radiographic studies.
- Teaches health maintenance procedures and provides educational resources to patients as needed.
- Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.
Position Qualifications

Degree/Education: Masters or Doctorate of Science degree with completion of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program required.
Certification: Certified as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Experience: Highly Preferred one year+ experience in mental health or psychiatric care for adults, individuals or families. MAT experience preferred.
Licensure: Maintains state licensure as an advance practice registered nurse/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and state licensure as a Registered Nurse required. Maintains current BLS certification . DEA certification required.
Malpractice liability insurance policy required- applicant must provide own insurance; able to provide recommendations if needed.

Pay: $60.00 - $95.00 per hour
