Job description

The Integrated Systems of Care Division (ISCD) oversees, operates, and monitors compliance, and investigates complaints/grievances of comprehensive health care delivery systems for vulnerable populations eligible for various programs, including but not limited to, the California Children's Services Program, Health Care Program for Children in Foster Care, Genetically Handicapped Persons Program, and other programs serving populations, predominantly children, with complex chronic health conditions. Additionally, ISCD is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, monitoring, auditing, and evaluating innovative long-term services and supports (LTSS) programs that integrate service delivery and consolidate funding sources. This includes the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, and the Money Follows the Person federal grant project, and supporting the implementation of DHCS' California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) initiatives. Finally, ISCD manages, oversees, monitors compliance the complex home and community-based services (HCBS) state plan options, waivers, and programs that enable vulnerable populations in California to receive needed care in their home or community, and is responsible for ongoing implementation and promotion of the California Partnership for Long- Term Care Insurance.
The Nurse Evaluator (NE) II performs a variety of technical and clinical consultative functions related to provider enrollment into the Programs. The NE II is also responsible for facility site and desktop audit reviews, including Provider and Facility renewal updates under the purview of the Integrated Systems of Care Division (ISCD). The NE II performs oversight functions regarding new and recertification of California Children Services (CCS) hospitals, Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) and Special Care Centers (SCCs). Hereafter referred collectively as Programs. The NE II provides assistance with technical and clinical guidance related to CCS standards, policies, and procedures to county staff, hospitals, various agencies, and providers. The NE II is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and good clinical judgment in performing assignments. The NE II is expected to inform the Chief of the Provider and Facility Site Review Unit of current activities, achievements, and operating problems. Statewide overnight travel of up to 25% of the time to various provider settings is required.

Working Conditions
Telework is based on operational needs for employees who can perform their essential functions remotely and/or whose duties are conducive to teleworking per DHCS' Telework Policy and in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200 - 14203 for employees residing in California.
Should the incumbent need to report to an office, they will need to report to DHCS office location: Sacramento or Los Angeles.

Special Requirements
