Position Overview:
The Promotions Marketing & Communications Manager is critical role in the leadership of the Gannett/USA Today Network Ventures and Promotions Division. This dynamic and creative individual will lead the development of marketing materials and sales strategies in collaboration with the sales organization to effectively execute initiatives, drive sales, generate new business growth, and increase revenues. This role includes identifying consumer and competitive trends to support development of revenue growth opportunities.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Promotions on strategy and development of compelling promotional campaigns that strengthen sales efforts, drive increased revenues, and capitalize on trending and seasonal opportunities.
  • Craft impactful high-level sales proposals for promotional campaigns that create a narrative to communicate the value of promotions to our advertisers, target sales objectives, support client initiatives, and engage consumer target audiences.
  • Oversee the development, deployment and utilization of promotions sales materials and resources to Sales Essentials for the sales organization.
  • Stay informed on evolving design and marketing trends, incorporating fresh ideas and approaches into our sales collateral and resources.
  • Collaborate with Promotions Vice President and Regional Promotions Directors to gather feedback and insights that contribute to continuous improvement of sales collateral and resources, and identify growth areas.
  • Lead communications and engaging content creation for monthly promotions calls, including marketing strategies to upsell clients and accelerate lead generation, activate new business, generate recurring revenues with proven programs, and meet quarterly and ongoing revenue goals with timely opportunities and gap closers.
  • Execution of all communications pertaining to promotions, ensuring all messaging and updates align with the overarching promotions strategies to maximize impact.
  • Develop and distribute weekly Promotions Scorecard, providing revenue reporting and updates for both Promotions and Communities Choice initiatives.
  • Development of comprehensive promotions training and education to empower sales reps with in-depth promotions knowledge and processes, and equip them with ready-to-go collateral to be effective in sales proposals.
  • Collaborate on cross-team initiatives, working closely with other departments to synergize efforts, share insights, and drive successful project outcomes.
  • Engage in close collaboration with sales teams and senior staff on the ideation and development of campaign mocks and live landing pages for high-profile client proposals.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 7 years of Brand/Marketing experience; in media sales or related industry preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and execute critical tasks in a complex and continually changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and proven ability to balance short and long term objectives
  • Collaborator with a demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with a focus on PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Ability to create visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers
  • Proven graphic design experience
The annualized base salary for this role will range between $45,000 and $92,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
