Job OverviewThe Promotion Intern assists with the execution of station marketing plans and events, contests, and other promotional activities.
Job Responsibilities
  • The Promotion Intern supports the development and execution of 101.9 THE MIX, The New 100.3 and 97.1 THE DRIVE promotion efforts, reporting to the Promotion Manager.
  • Responsibilities include representing 101.9 THE MIX, The New 100.3 and 97.1 THE DRIVE at onsite community and sales events; operating sound systems, cameras, and interactive games; engaging audiences and driving traffic to setup location.
  • Promotion Interns are expected to keep up to date with 101.9 THE MIX, The New 100.3 and 97.1 THE DRIVE promotions, including, but not limited to, station events and giveaways. Promotion Interns contribute on an on-going basis in developing the stations' promotion and marketing efforts in a manner that will both achieve maximum audience interest and ratings, while maintaining the company's aesthetic, moral, and ethical standards.
  • Solid experience with Adobe Premiere. Proficient with Photoshop.
  • Communicate frequently with other staff during the event.
  • Maintain cheerful attitude during events.
  • Keep promotional areas and station vehicles organized and clean.
  • Attend meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Complete other duties as requested and needed.
  • Valid drivers’ license and clean driving history as determined by the Company. Driving record will be checked.

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A letter of recommendation from your college advisor (including verification that the internship will result in college credit) is required.
  • Must be an experienced driver and able to drive a Chevy Traverse with a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Must be able to drive the company vehicle in a safe and legal manner and be willing to sign and fully support the Hubbard Radio Chicago Vehicle Operating Agreement. Obey all traffic laws.
  • Able to work 20 to 30 hours per week, including weeknights and early mornings. Must have open weekend availability.
  • Ability to work hours scheduled. Punctuality is critical.
  • Ability to work independently and operate effectively in high-pressure, time-critical situations.
  • Project an appropriate company image with respect to dress and demeanor, as well as maintain a positive attitude at all times.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills with multi-tasking capabilities; communication skills, both written and verbal; and problem solving/critical thinking skills.
  • Work in a cooperative manner, interacting effectively with all station personnel, clients, outside vendors, and listeners.
  • Possess general knowledge of Marketing/Public Relations/Communications/Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) industry.
  • Strong marketing/promotional background, as either educational focus or equivalent experience, is a plus.
  • Must keep up to date with 101.9 THE MIX, The New 100.3 and 97.1 THE DRIVE promotions, including, but not limited to, station events and giveaways.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. The Company will make reasonable physical accommodations to facilitate the ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Need a letter from your counselor that the internship will result in college credit.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Works under tight deadlines and in pressure situations.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to manipulate general office equipment (telephone, copier, etc.) and drive vehicle.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Average pushing and pulling, bending and stooping.
  • Lift and carry up to 25lbs. The Company may make reasonable accommodations to facilitate the ability to perform essential job functions.
