IYI is looking for a Promise IndianaDirector who:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and the VP of Organizational Capacity, the Promise Indiana Director is responsible for the overall program management and the implementation of the IYI Promise Indiana, an innovative Children's Savings Account (CSA) program, focused on with Indiana students and their parents/guardians. Promise Indiana Director will provide project oversight, ensure program goals and objectives are being met, and adhere to all funding requirements.

The Promise Indiana Director will work with local schools, non-profits, educational institutions and or corporations, to perform community outreach responsibilities on behalf of Indiana Youth Institute. Directs the accurate reporting and appropriate expansion of community benefit activities and provides support in the management of community partnerships by facilitating the sharing of community outreach best practices. Partners with leadership in the strategic planning and the attainment of goals for community partnerships.

Additionally, this position works closely with IYI leadership to strategize different ways to spread awareness about IYI while also helping the community. This position is also responsible for maintaining a budget and working with the Promise team and community partners to develop the joint creation of marketing materials.

Core responsibilities will Include (but not be limited to): 

  • Research and identify key community partners to assist with Promise sustainability.
  • Supports accurate and timely reporting to Promise partners and funders.
  • Incorporates IYI’s mission and values into the program’s vision and strategies.
  • Ensures community engagement; promotes the collaborative nature of IYI.
  • Advocates for and institutionalizes inclusion and diversity throughout the program.
  • Initiates the development of relationships with influential leaders to impact and strengthen the community.
  • Communicates to engage and inspire people within and outside the IYI.
  • Effectively drives change by leveraging resources and creating alignment to expand program opportunities.
  • Assists in developing the Promise Indiana budget.
  • Provide supervisor with report on program status.
  • Work with leadership to set strategic goals and objectives for Promise Indiana.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to create detailed implementation plans. This includes deadlines, milestones, processes, and risk mitigation protocols.

Core skills needed (but are not limited to):

  • Communication skills to with providing information to donors and community stakeholders of IYI’s purpose.
  • Project management skills such as time management, scheduling other people and coordinating locations for events.
  • Administrative skills needed to coordinate events, budgets, and people.
  • Ability to multitask with several project details at once to ensure effective publicity for the organization. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • 7-10 years related experience, with progressive responsibility in program project management.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Requires experience in designing and facilitating training for youth, families, and presenting to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Requires experience working with school leadership and other external stakeholders.
  • Requires knowledge of federal and state community benefit/nonprofit status requirements.
  • Requires travel within the state of Indiana.

Compensation and Benefits: IYI offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The typical hiring range for this role is $70,000 to $82,500. The actual offer takes into account multiple factors including but not limited to education; experience; internal equity, and other organizational needs. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range of minimum and midpoint depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity. We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, covering the majority of the employee premium for the base medical plan and offering other benefits including dental and vision plans, disability, life insurance, generous vacation time, professional development, and a 403(b) plan.

COVID19 Vaccination Policy: IYI requires all employees to be "up to date" with COVID-19 vaccines by your employment start date. This would include either:

  • A full primary series of an FDA-approved vaccine and at least one booster vaccine.
  • Or you received the full primary series of an FDA approved vaccine in the last 5 months and are therefore not eligible to receive a booster vaccine. After the 5 months conclude, you will need to receive a booster vaccine or will no longer be "up to date".

IYI will consider requests for exemptions from the vaccination policy due to medical conditions or religious belief. You will be required to provide proof of vaccination at the time of hire and/or on your first day of employment. Our vaccination protocols are subject to applicable laws and will be updated from time to time to reflect evolving conditions and federal, state, local, and other applicable health and safety guidelines.
