Job Posting: HVAC Projects Field Supervisor

Position Description

In this role you will provide planning and management in the safe and efficient installation of HVAC equipment, components and systems in commercial and/or Industrial settings. Utilizes human resources effectively to manage workload, achieve production and margin objectives and provide HVAC services to customers and contractors. The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all- inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Resolve customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that materials and equipment are ordered and dispensed for scheduled jobs.
  • Schedules repairs for parts to ensure minimal down-time in job completion.
  • Instruct crews on proper use of materials and quality workmanship.
  • May conduct job site surveys.
  • Ensure that employees have proper tools for the job and that they are properly maintained.
  • Monitors preventive maintenance of vehicles to ensure proper operation.
  • Provides on-the-job training and support to employees.
  • Oversees facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring that assets are protected and controlled. Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.
  • Communicates with Project managers and Filed Operations Manager, reviews daily reports. Observes all safety and Company rules and regulations in the performance of duties, communicating with the Safety Director.
  • Follow the guidelines for the Senior Care, Ethics, and Quality Assurance Process.
  • Review project closeout/XOi.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of various air conditioning and heating systems and apparatus.
  • Knowledge of the terminology used within the division and within the HVAC trade.
  • Knowledge of, and proficient with computers and various spreadsheet and custom HVAC software packages.
  • Knowledge of blueprints, electrical codes, mechanical designs, and wiring diagrams.
  • Skilled in the use and operation of various construction tools and equipment.
  • Skilled in the standard practices, methods, materials, and tools attributable to the HVAC trade.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, work crews and other staff members.
  • Ability to use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations.
  • Ability to plan, organize and/or prioritize daily assignments and work activities.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply regulations and procedures of the division.
  • Ability to maintain an assortment of records, reports, and information in an effective manner.

 

Special Demands/Physical Requirements:

The position may sometimes require light to medium lifting up to 30lbs. Normally such lifting will involve, but is not limited to, the lifting of boxes, books, standard office supplies and small equipment items. The position is mentally demanding in that the incumbent must be able to retain and assimilate significant amounts of information, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, analyze and interpret data and make recommendations to staff and managers alike. Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment and various other HVAC equipment. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. This position also requires crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Qualifications

The following qualifications along with individuals previous work experience will be considered by the company when evaluating applicants:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6-8 years of experience in HVAC service
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience using basic hand tools
  • Commercial/Industrial construction experience
  • Working knowledge of gas piping, electricity, plumbing and air flow are required
  • Journeyman licensure is desired
  • Must possess a working knowledge of local codes and general industry standards
  • Strong supervisory, communications, computer and mathematical skills are required
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC building systems
  • Must possess a universal EPA certification
  • Have and maintain a professional image
