We are seeking a qualified Survey & Mapping Solutions Project Professional to plan and coordinate projects in our Survey Client Service Group. Projects may include aerial mapping control, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, computer mapping, consolidation/subdivision plats, construction layout, easement and legal document preparation, erosion control plans, geographic information systems, development surveys, land acquisition, property line surveys, residential site plans, right-of-way plan development, subdivision designs, topographic surveys, and utility inventory mapping.
As a Project Surveyor at Environmental Design Group you will:- Prepare maps for recording such as lot splits, plats, right-of-way plans, prepare and review base maps from data
- Prepare staking plans for use by survey field crew; prepare accurate, detailed drawings and maps using computer aided design software; identify concerns and inconsistent data to the appropriate individual for resolution; assist with document approval process with client attorneys and local government agencies as needed; assist with final distribution of survey documents to clients; ensure that completed project data is properly stored in retrievable formats
- Research documents at relevant county courthouse to verify current property owner, adjacent owners, boundaries established in old surveys, and easements
- Visit survey sites as needed to ensure accuracy of CADD documents, including topographical detail and ALTA surveys
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with our clients and other professionals in the A/E/C industry; use those relationships and knowledge of our company's technical capabilities to direct business development opportunities to appropriate staff
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Surveying
- Experience: 5+ years
- Certifications: Professional Surveyor license is preferred or appropriate progress toward achieving P.S. status
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in survey technology and equipment, and other company software as needed
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Occasional evening work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day.
Must have a valid driver's license and possess a driving record that will enable the employee to be insurable under the Company's standard vehicle insurance and general comprehensive liability insurance without additional costs to the Company.
Supervisor Responsibility
This position does not manage any staff.
