Objective *We have two Project Manager positions open - Level I, II or III (Salary is DOE)
The Project Manager (PM) is the primary point-of-contact for the customer in planning and delivering the manufacturing or service deliverable, working to ensure a timely and quality product. Project Managers work closely with their manufacturing team to schedule and allocate resources to customer orders. They track, manage and communicate progress on all projects. This role is responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction during the relationship and success relies heavily on the Project Manager’s ability to communicate and maintain clear expectations with everyone involved. The Project Manager needs to have a competent understanding of all aspects of planning, developing, and delivering manufacturing projects.

Essential Responsibilities (PROJECT MANAGER I)

  • Receive Request For Quote from Sales or directly from customer.
  • Coordinate with all involved departments to determine gates to successful project completion, i.e. verification of long-lead purchase parts, material availability, BOM and router accuracy, manufacturing resources required, delivery schedules.
  • Follow bid review guidelines, provide timely customer quotations through accurate routing and materials estimations.
  • Receive and process customer purchase orders, ensuring PO accurately reflects price, delivery, terms, and shipping method.
  • With the assistance of the PM Group Manager, conduct contract and terms negotiations as required prior to PO acceptance.
  • Provide single point-of-contact for customer regarding all aspects of their manufacturing order.
  • Work directly with customer regarding changes to the project scope and assessment of possible constraints.
  • Provided rapid response to daily/ weekly shortage reports as required by customer
  • Develop productive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate interaction between departments in the areas of procurement, production, documentation, inspection, and shipping.
  • Facilitate necessary internal and external meetings and prepare necessary status reports to ensure project tasks are being completed in a timely fashion
  • With the assistance of the PM Group Manager, capture cost of deviations and determine project impacts including cost, delivery date, and conformance to customer expectations
  • Obtain written customer authorization to deviate from customer requirements
  • Communicate changes or deviations in scope to internal departments.
  • Provide first level of escalation for customer issues and escalate issues to the level necessary to satisfy issue
  • Conduct post-project analysis or post-mortem to capture actual vs. quoted costs
  • Facilitate the resolution of any technical, manufacturing and / or quality issues
  • Assist Quality Assurance Manager in the initiation and completion of all customer returns, non-conformance reports, and internal Return Materials Authorization (RMA) process
  • With the assistance of a Manufacturing Engineer, identify and correct drawing redlines and part notes
  • Initiate the improvement of customer documentation through Supplier Request for Deviation (SRD)
  • Document work processes in department
  • Other duties as requested.
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
  • Responsible for updating and reporting status of current orders via customer provided Open Order Reports.
  • Conduct BOM Scrubbing and BOM Creation, including BOM checklists, using customer provided documents.
  • Responsible for initiation of First Article Inspection Reports as required by customer.
  • Assist the Project Management Team Leader with the implementation of LEAN Manufacturing procedures.
  • Recommend opportunities for streamlining of specific product manufacturing.
  • Refine existing BOMs to flatten build structure.
  • Rapidly respond to requests for quote from Sales Representatives.
  • Provide timely budgetary quotes to internal and external customers.
  • Assist in the design, specification and realization of customer prototypes.
  • Refine workflow processes and implement more efficient work flow procedures.
  • Promote project acceptance based on form, fit and function.
  • Provide small volume purchasing capability to minimize overhead utilization.
  • Provide construction sketches for simple manufacturing projects.
  • Assist Engineering department with project management resources for large design build and design assist projects.
Qualifications, Requirements, and/or Experience:
  • Associates Degree in a technical discipline (or four years equivalent experience).
  • Minimum two years Project Management or Customer Service background.
  • Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and CAD drawings preferred.
  • Skilled communicator, both orally and written, in use of word processing, spread sheets, presentations, data base management software and manufacturing systems programs such as MRP, MRPII and ERP.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Windows-based PC.

  • Provide expeditious quotations through accurate routing and material estimations.
  • Ability to understand technical documentation, concepts, opportunistic ideas and clearly communicate essential information to departmental teams.
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to new situations and projects that require immediate implementation.
  • Strong background defining, developing, quoting, launching and delivering projects to expedited timelines that support customer requirements and schedule needs.
  • Use of metrics to track projects, quotations, to understand and improve customer support and feedback.
  • Managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Conduct pre-project analysis to review and determine appropriate resource requirements, long-lead purchase parts, material availability, BOM and router accuracy and delivery schedules. Conduct post project analysis (Post Mortem) to review efficiencies, use of resources, schedules, process, lessons learned, pre/post cost analysis and project improvements.
  • Conduct BOM Scrubbing and BOM Creation, including BOM checklists, using customer provided documents
  • Provide expeditions response and communication to internal and external customer requests, project / order status (open order reports) and reporting metrics to support a growing relationship with the customer.
  • Manage customer purchase orders and ensure accuracy across pricing, delivery dates, shipping methods, terms and any additional requirements specific to the customer and / or company processes.
  • Conduct contractual negotiations as required prior to PO acceptance.
  • Provide single point-of-contact for all customer inquiries, orders, quotes, company capabilities, etc.
  • Develop and encourage growth of relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate interaction between department managers in the areas of procurement, production, documentation, inspection, and shipping to facilitate a successful project.
  • Facilitate necessary internal and external meetings and prepare necessary status reports to ensure project tasks are being completed in a timely fashion and escalate deficiencies.
  • Capture project deviations and determine project impacts including cost, delivery date, and conformance to customer expectations.
  • Effectively manage customer projects and obtain and communicate while obtaining the necessary written customer authorization/approvals for drawings, redlines, contractual agreements, project or product deviations, scope change, project constraints, etc.
  • Clearly communicate project changes or deviations to internal departments.
  • Proactively work to resolve internal an external customer issues with team resources and escalate to the next level of support as necessary to resolve the issue or provide a potential solution.
  • Resource to provide resolution to any technical, manufacturing and / or quality issues discovered.
  • Responsible for the initiation and completion of all customer returns, non-conformance reports, and internal Return Materials Authorization (RMA) process.
  • Identify, correct and submit drawing redlines and part notes.
  • Assist Sales personnel in identifying new business opportunities.
  • Recommend and drive product design improvements to internal and external customers.
  • Document, develop and update work instructions / processes when an opportunity for improvement is presented.
  • Other duties as requested.
Additional Responsibilities May Include:

Qualifications, Requirements, and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline preferred (or four years equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 4 years Project Management experience in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and CAD drawings / software preferred.
  • Skilled communicator, both orally and written, in use of word processing, spread sheets, presentations, data base management software and manufacturing systems programs such as MRP, MRPII and ERP.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Windows-based PC.
