The Spirit of the Position:
The Project Manager is responsible for projects across all departments at LAZ. The Project Manager will work with cross functional teams, manage resources, and ensure that projects meet organizational goals and objectives.
Principal Job Duties:
- Creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
- Lead and motivate cross-departmental teams, ensuring clarity in roles, responsibilities, and goals.
- Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them.
- Monitor project progress against established plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
- Serve as a point of contact when multiple teams/departments are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
- Communicating with project stakeholders to keep the project aligned with their goals.
- Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change.
- Creating and updating the PMS (Monday.com), project reports, and all communications related to the project.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business or management preferred.
- PMP Certification preferred.
Skills:
- Proven ability to work autonomously and decisively.
- Ability to delegate effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage a team, resolve conflicts and negotiate effectively.
- Capacity to prioritize tasks, manage time, and handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Manage projects and interact with people at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timeliness.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools used in project management and software development, such as Monday.com, Jira, Trello, Asana, or GitHub.
- Comprehension of technical jargon (or willingness to learn) and the ability to engage in conversations with development teams regarding architecture, APIs, databases, etc.
- Ability to facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to bridge the gap between developers and other departments, ensuring a clear understanding of project requirements.
Physical Demands:
- Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Ability to lift, push and pull at least 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
