The Position

Leads the implementation and integration of North America benefits in partnership with the project management office and cross-functional teams as applicable. Requires management of projects and other initiatives designed to meet business needs, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and a high level of employee engagement. Successful execution requires development of project plans and achievement of established milestones in close collaboration with stakeholders across P&O, lines of business and outsourced partners. Identifies and executes continuous process improvement opportunities. Manages ad-hoc benefit projects as needed.

 

Relationships

Reports to the Senior Director, North America Benefits. Maintains a high level of connectivity with global and local P&O, as well as other internal departments such as Legal, Finance, Procurement, etc. to ensure strategic and execution coordination across the organization. This position requires leadership interaction and collaboration. External relationships include interactions with relevant vendors and consultants based on the needs of special projects or implementation of new programs.

 

Essential Functions

  • Provide project management support for integrations, business development, new benefit programs, vendor implementations and process improvement efforts
  • Develop implementation timelines, deliverables and service level expectations in alignment with key stakeholders
  • Closely collaborate and manage relevant stakeholders in day-to-day activities through close communication
  • Drive follow-up on execution and completion of key milestones, action items and deliverables
  • Understand and document risks, issues, decisions and dependencies
  • Demonstrate leadership in identifying and resolving identified challenges
  • Engage Senior Director, North America benefits as needed to achieve project objectives and meet needs of the organization
  • Identify and track requests that need resolution by project management office or other areas
  • Serve as benefits subject matter expert and liaison between North America Benefits and project key stakeholders
  • Assist with data collection and analysis
  • Assist with content creation (e.g., FAQs, onboarding materials) and manage communications channels
  • Help ensure benefit plan compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, and state and local leave laws
  • Help ensure North America Benefits team preparedness for engagement in relevant projects and forums, including local and global P&O leadership meetings
  • Proactively identify and drive opportunities for improvement and challenge status quo
  • Support key ad-hoc deliverables as needed

 

Physical Requirements

0-25% overnight travel required.

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may be substituted for degree, when appropriate
  • Certification in a benefits related area (CEBS or CBP) or progress toward obtaining preferred
  • A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in HR or related industry with at least four years in Benefits 
  • Previous administration experience with self-insured medical, 401(k) and/or short and long term disability plans required. Large corporation (1000+ employees) experience preferred
  • Must have a working knowledge of IRS, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADA and FMLA rules and regulations as they pertain to employee benefits
  • Experience in benefit plan design and negotiations with plan vendors and consultants preferred
  • Demonstrated project management and problem solving required
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute and follow-up in a timely manner required. Ability to work across functional areas with all levels of stakeholders both locally and globally
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, strong relationship building and stakeholder management required. Flexibility to meet business needs while moving key initiatives and priorities forward
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to synthesize complex information into user-friendly, persuasive formats and presentations required
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skill required

 

The base compensation range for this position is $143,000 to $153,000. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors.  In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Incentive Plan. The role may also be eligible for a long-term incentive bonus depending on level and other Company factors.
