The Position
The Project Manager, Accelerated Efficiencies and Optimization, will drive execution of Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) CMR digital initiatives. Incumbent will be responsible for supporting digitalization initiatives across CMR with a primary focus on managing digital efforts in conjunction with the Digital Transformation Lead. Communicates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent, accurate communication of scientific information, and leads cross-functional and/or global initiatives in response to identified business needs.
Relationships
This position reports to the Director – Accelerated Efficiencies and Optimization, Strategic Operations. The Project Manager regularly works with members of CMR to develop and drive digital solutions and efficiencies. Key internal stakeholder relationships include Scientific Communications, NNI Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, Health Economics Outcomes Research & Data Analytics, Marketing, Market Access Strategy & Innovation, and Digital Health staff at all levels. This person is an active member of cross functional digital strategy & transformation teams, and ad hoc task forces. External relationships include Scientific Communications vendors, digitalization/AI/ML vendors, external scientific communications resources, and related professional societies/organizations, including industry consortia.
Essential Functions
- In collaboration with the Director - Accelerated Efficiencies and Optimization,, support overall CMR digital strategy and related plans by evaluating and aligning to a wide range of sources, both internally (e.g., Global R&D, U.S. Competitive Intelligence, Managed Markets, Clinical Insights, Medical Affairs, Scientific Center of Excellence) and externally (e.g., KOL interviews, literature assessments, benchmarking, landscape assessments, financial analyses, regulatory policies) providing insight and strategic guidance which will facilitate decision-making and understanding of the market
- Assist the Director - Accelerated Efficiencies and Optimization,, develop, update, and drive NNI CMR digital strategy, informed by commercial digital strategy, in consideration of aligned global and local strategies , key partnerships, disrupters, and influencers in the evolving technological and healthcare landscape, and facilitating best-practice sharing
- Support digital projects through all phases including budgeting, concept, development, deployment and training. Responsible for stability, technology, content, and strategy for Medical websites (e.g., scientific-exchange.com), third party partnerships, and medical social Media accounts (Twitter/LinkedIn)
- Works with minimal supervision across functions representing medical with IT, Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance and additional stakeholders for assigned projects
- Develop external digital partnerships and leverage external relationships to drive critical changes benefiting both Novo Nordisk and the patient
- Manage budget for digital initiatives. Serve as business lead in vendor negotiation and management of digital solutions to ensure productivity, cost-savings and timely execution, and full leverage of synergies across NNI Scientific Communications budgets
- Provide input into Strategic Operations and the larger CMR organization discussions regarding local and global digital communications activities
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across CMR and global colleagues and regularly share best practices and product information to ensure accurate, quality data are available
- Assure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements as they affect CMR
Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required. This position is a hybrid work schedule requiring the employee to work 3 days per week in the Plainsboro office.
Qualifications
- BS in a scientific, IT, project management or related discipline. 4+ years of relevant work experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience in project management. Pharma experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a cross functional team; ability to form effective working relationships within and external to the Medical department
- Has an in-depth understanding of current Pharma landscape and applicable regulations
- As innovations in the pharma industry emerge, is able to identify and implement these practices at Novo Nordisk
- Extensive knowledge of digital platforms and technological advances in scientific communications
- Proven high level of technical competency and expertise in project management is required. Agile methodology preferred
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication and presentation skills
