Job Title: Project Manager - Electrical Construction Projects

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with an emphasis on electrical engineering to join our project management team. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Blue Beam, Accubid and the most current PM and Engineering software.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Project Planning and Development:

- Oversee the planning and development phases of large-scale Electrical Construction Projects. Ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and specifications.

- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget requirements.

 

2. Team Leadership and Management:

- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including estimators, administrative staff, procurement personnel, and other project leadership team members.

- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and efficiency.

- Conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment with project goals and to address any challenges.

 

3. Budget Management and Cost Control:

- Prepare and manage project budgets meticulously to ensure cost-effectiveness and that financial targets are met.

- Monitor project expenses, implement cost-control measures, and conduct regular budget reviews to prevent cost overruns.

- Negotiate with vendors and contractors to obtain favorable terms and pricing.

 

4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

- Ensure all project activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, industry standards and meet client expectations.

- Implement quality control procedures to ensure high standards are met in all aspects of the project.

- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards and project specifications.

- Develop continuous improvement practices to enhance project management processes and outcomes.

 

5. Risk Management:

- Identify potential risks associated with the project and develop mitigation strategies.

- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to minimize risks and manage project disruptions.

 

6. Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:

- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, including clients, team members, and external partners.

- Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of all project stages.

- Prepare and present detailed project progress reports and updates to senior management, stakeholders and clients.

 

7. Contract Administration:

- Oversee the preparation and negotiation of contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

- Ensure that all contractual terms and conditions are met and address any discrepancies.

 

8. Resource Management:

- Allocate resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure project efficiency.

- Manage the procurement process to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

 

9. Technical Guidance and Problem Solving:

- Apply in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles to guide project decisions and problem-solving.

- Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members.

- Solicit feedback from team members and clients to identify areas for improvement.

- Address and resolve complex technical and management issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

 

10. Project Closeout:

- Lead the project closeout process, including the completion of all contractual obligations, final budget reconciliation, and project evaluation.

- Ensure the handover of the project to the client is smooth and meets all agreed-upon standards.

 

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related field.

- Proven background in Electrical Construction, project management, electrical engineering.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in a management role within the relevant field.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred.

- Proficiency in Blue Beam, Accubid, and other relevant project management and engineering software.

- Possession of an Electrical Contractor's License is advantageous.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.

 

Travel Requirements:

- The position requires some travel.
