The Position
Logistics Project ManagerJob Summary
Based at our N America headquarters in Roswell, GA, we are hiring a Logistics Project Manager to lead project scoping, strategy development, and implementation. You will also manage, track and report deliverables and associated financials in collaboration with the logistics finance controller.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Project management of logistics initiatives involving truck, rail, and ocean transportation modes.
Lead project scoping and working sessions with relevant SMEs and stakeholders.
Quantify financial opportunities, set milestone and deliverable timelines.
Create action plans, manage progress tracking, and identify task owners.
Prepare comprehensive project plans to ensure deliverables are attained within budget, timeline and varied project objectives.
Lead multiple project initiatives in parallel timelines.
Collaborate cross-functionally with different areas of the business including manufacturing, purchasing, finance, customer service, and sales.
Ensure efficient project control tools (cost, schedule, risk) are in place and take corrective actions when necessary. Recommend decisions for the steering committee.
Develop method of change management inclusive of ownership of documentation library, process training and communication plans etc.
Skills and Attributes Requirements:
Problem solving, complex, and decentralized team management.
Oral and written communication with internal and external contacts.
Project Control and reporting.
Capacity to develop recommendations based on robust and quantitative evaluation of different alternates.
Execution strategy definition and risk analysis.
Establish KPIs and corrective action plans as appropriate.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering or related field
Minimum 10 years’ experience in logistics and supply chain management
Working knowledge of truck, rail, and ocean freight modes.
Develop project plan on basis of business requirements, arrangement of project team, project metrics design, KPI’s and reporting.
Open minded, experience in multi-cultural environments
Travel 20% depending on project requirements
