The Public Employees Retirement System is recruiting for one (1) Project Manager 2 position within the Central Administration Division (CAD), Strategic and Operational Planning (SOP) section.
- This is a full-time, permanent position.
- This position is based at our headquarters office in Tigard, Oregon, and the successful candidate is eligible for full-time 100% remote work.

Central Administration Division
Central Administration provides support services necessary to achieve the agency's key goals in support of the mission, vision, and core values and operating principles. Services from Central Administration are provided to all departments in the agency. Central Administration supports the executive director's office and other key areas and plays a key role in making and implementing critical agency decisions.
Strategic and Operational Planning Section
This position will reside in the Strategic and Operational Planning (SOP) section within the Central Administration Division. The Central Administration Division provides leadership and support services necessary to achieve PERS’ key goals in support of the mission, vision, core values and operating principles. Services are provided to all departments throughout the enterprise. The division is recognized as the center of excellence in developing solutions for and implementing, critical agency decisions.
The SOP section is focused on supporting business and enterprise capabilities through various methods to include but not limited to, business process management, data-driven determinations, project, and portfolio management. It is through these efforts that SOP contributes to the outcomes and implementation of the strategic plan.
Project Manager 2
PM2 Project Manager is a position leads the planning and administration of medium to large agency-wide enterprise projects which could involve IT projects. Elements include directing, coordinating, and controlling the associated activities for both technical and end user staffing assigned to the project; controlling project scope, cost, and delivery schedules; developing detailed project plans and effort-based schedules; and managing the execution of these work plans.

What Are We Looking For?
Minimum Qualifications
Five years of progressively responsible experience related to the class concept.
OR
Four years of progressively responsible experience related to the class concept AND an Oregon Project Management Associate Certification.
OR
Two years of progressively responsible experience related to the class concept AND a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
OR
A Project Management Professional Certification awarded by the Project Management Institute.
Candidates who are the most competitive will possess the following skills, background, and areas of experience:
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodology (PMP preferred).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Goal driven with the ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
- Self-motivated with ability to work on teams and self-directed.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Experience with user acceptance testing.
- Background and knowledge of effort-based scheduling
- Strong proficiency in MS Project.
