Project Laborer

Job Description:

Owensboro Electric Motor is seeking a skilled and diligent laborer for an ongoing mechanical/construction project at a Customer facility. Work will consist of installation of a heavy industrial water pipe system, as well as the installation and erection of the steel supports for that system.

Position is temporary, during project duration (est. 5-8+ weeks), with potential to grow into a full-time position based on performance and Employer need at end of term.

Position is regional to the Owensboro, KY area, but will require daily travel to Customer facility ~50 miles away from Owensboro Electric Motor headquarter.

NOTE: Special consideration will be given to Experienced Applicants who have the capacity to act as an Assistant Foreman, to help lead the project alongside the existing Project Foreman.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 or older to apply.
• Ability to follow workplace safety policies and guidelines.
• Ability and willingness to travel daily to worksite in Morgantown, KY.
• Ability and willingness to communicate and work well with a team.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift in excess of 50+ lbs. on a frequent basis.
• Ability and willingness to work in excess of 8 hours per workday. This will be subject to Employer and Customer Overtime policies, where applicable.
• Must consent to a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Qualifications:

• Preferred experience in general/trade labor, construction, welding, and/or millwrighting.
• Preferred experience/familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing maintenance.
• Familiarity with rigging, including use of hoists, slings, straps, etc.
• Comfortability with/around scaffolding, staging, ladders, etc.
• Skill with general tools including, but not limited to: impacts, drills, grinders, saws, pipe clamps.
• Preferred experience in project management duties, including but limited to time and material tracking and problem solving.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $17.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 50 per week
