Salary:

We are seeking a laborer to work closely with our Construction Staff in Eastern Kentucky. This individual will work on construction sites to build new homes and repair homes related to Eastern Kentucky Floods. They will work in a team to ensure the quality and efficiency of each project.

This individual ideally would have previous experience in residential construction although this is not required. This position is in service to the Disaster Recovery efforts in Eastern Kentucky which is anticipated to be a multi-year project depending on project progress and funding. This is an hourly position, reporting to the Disaster Recovery Construction Coordinator. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Abide by and ensure compliance with ASP’s quality standards and governmental regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a positive role model for staff and represent ASP well in the community
  • Construction Management: 
  • Ensure a safe working environment and practices on site 
  • Ensure stewardship of materials onsite including a clean and presentable worksite 
  • Ensure proper inventory control of all tools & materials 
  • Typical construction projects include but are not limited to framing carpentry, siding/soffit, metal roofing, doors, windows, porches/ramps, foundation drains, batt and blown insulation, crawlspace moisture barrier, interior and foundation paint, LVP flooring, interior trim carpentry, cabinet installation, yard dressing, construction cleanup etc.
    • Work alongside volunteers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor 


Candidate Description

Required:

  • Willingness to work in a Christian environment
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials and equipment
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Attention to detail and quality control

 

Desired:

  • 1-year previous work experience in residential construction or another similar role
  • Experience hauling trailers, operating small equipment such as a skid steer
  • Ability to learn quickly

 

Other Requirements: 

  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that is acceptable to ASP’s insurer.  
  • May require lifting items (boxes, materials) weighing up to 100 pounds.  
  • Satisfactory results on a thorough background check and drug test


Compensation

ASP provides a market-based pay and the following benefits including:

  • Pay based on education and experience – starting at $15/Hr
  • Access to company vehicles is needed to transport materials
  • Access to company tools to complete the work
  • Workman’s Compensation Insurance
