We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!
The team at U.S. Parks Tech & Digital (Walt Disney World & Disneyland) is seeking an experienced and energetic individual. Specifically, you will be leading and delivering innovative products and solutions in support of the U.S. Parks' technology portfolio. This will include planning, tracking, and coordinating results by both internal and vendor resources. The ideal candidate has a shown track-record of leading multiple concurrent projects. This role requires you to use established project management methodologies to ensure each project is on-track with adequate resources, budgets, and timeline for success. These projects are diverse in complexity and life cycle; they require close partnerships with other internal and external partners; demand broad technical and business understanding.
This role sits in Orlando Florida or Anaheim California within the Disney Experiences team and is a 12 month Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.
What You'll Do:
Project Management
Delivers results cross-functional project initiatives, of all sizes, within established timeframes and quality measures
Applies advanced level project management skills and extensive knowledge to lead assigned projects
Ability to lead projects without extensive knowledge of the subject matter
Prioritizes tasks to meet deliverables and commitments on timeline
Proactively identifies barriers and resolves issues, figuring out (and driving, as needed) contingency plans, while mitigating risks.
Experienced in making pitches with technical and product leadership about project risk and roadmap changes, proactively working with technical teams to look for ways to mitigate and adjust where possible.
Accurately time the customer concerns of issues to the appropriate audiences for awareness and/or additional support
Leads project quality through activities such as conducting appropriate reviews, acquiring approvals, and taking corrective actions when vital.
Project Communication and Documentation
Develops and implements communication cadences and reporting mechanisms to lead issues, risks, mitigations, and the timely delivery of initiative results.
Translates project goals and objectives into a defined, and documented, future state and project success measurements that can be understood by project partners, project team, and others
Ensures business needs and scopes are effectively collected in functional and non-functional business requirements and/or user stories for a system, process, or workflow
Is responsible for business requirements to meet expected business solutions and traces delivery of requirements through testing to final implementation
Understands business requirement management and drives quality management to provide expected business solutions
Communicates with both technical and business users, with the ability to gracefully handle tough conversations
Build and maintain documentation, procedures, and work instructions for development or operations team
Projects Leadership
Owns and leads large development programs and teams where a project comprises of many components from conceptualization through implementation.
Lead team members in the delivery of technology solutions to meet business delivery expectations, maintain portfolio currency, and integrate best engineering practices
Proactively establishes and maintains collaborative and productive cross-functional partnerships on current projects and results while preparing for future project opportunities
Balances challenging demands for quality, scope, time, as well as cost
Coordinates and advises the activities of internal and cross-functional project teams
Ensures that project members’ time and experience are well applied
Proactively drives and recommends alternatives/options to minimize any schedule delay
Adapts and attends to different concerns and expectations of partners
Shares project experience/knowledge and mentor others across the enterprise to help build project management skills
Be highly flexible to constantly evolving business needs and adoption of innovative technologies
Exercises creativity to dynamically evaluate business needs and make suggestions to meet those needs
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Well-established in technical project management, having a minimum of eight (8) years of enterprise-scale technical program/project management experience
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in agile project/program and software product release management
Extensive experience in project management methodologies and frameworks without being dogmatic about any single way of doing things
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate multiple parties working collaboratively and efficiently
Advanced analytical skills and demonstrated ability to quantify business questions
Shown outstanding problems solving skills
Demonstrated ability to dive deep into ambiguous challenges and deliver actionable insight
Excellent facilitation and elicitation skills alongside abilities to effectively articulate difficult ideas and concepts through clear and concise verbal or written communication
Extensive knowledge/understanding of SDLC methodologies
Proven exceptional ability to work effectively in a dynamic, constantly evolving business and technical environment
Proven exceptional ability to negotiate tradeoffs effectively with business and IT partners on business requirements and timeframes on large initiatives
Outstanding ability in identifying and applying different communication mediums based on content and audience at all levels (both internal and external to Disney) to achieve intended goal
Shown technical leadership, with the ability to inspire and coach other technical members to perform at their highest potential.
Advanced skills in SmartSheet, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and SharePoint
Advanced documentation skills such as: Creation of Executive-level presentations. Expert in creating timelines, roadmaps, and other graphical representations of overview, qualitative, and quantitative information
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science or similar field and 3+ years of related work experience;
Preferred Education:
Or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science or similar field and 1+ year of related work experience.

The hiring range for this position in CA is $ $97,600.00 to $122,400.00 to per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
