We are currently seeking an experienced Geologist to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is a full-time position located in our Seattle, WA office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct field work, including soil, sediment, aquifer testing, drilling oversight and soil logging, soil boring and monitoring well installation, well development, well purging and sampling, and construction oversight, groundwater, and surface water sampling.
- Coordinate and direct drilling, surveying, and laboratory services.
- Provide construction oversight on environmental remediation projects, and operations and maintenance of environmental remediation systems.
- Provide construction oversight on geotechnical construction sites on deep foundations, excavations, and ground improvement systems.
- Focus on team project delivery, taking direction primarily from Project Managers.
- Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Communicate with subcontractors, tenants, and clients during field activities.
- Act as a “Team Leader” on project sites as well as a mentor and trainer to junior staff.
- Conduct other duties which could also include reviewing boring logs, compliance auditing, occupational health and safety or storm water management.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- B.S. degree in Geology (Engineering, Environmental Science, Geoscience or related field).
- M.S. degree strongly preferred.
- Has GIT or PG or able to sit for in with in 6 month of hire.
- Minimum 5-10 years of related field geology and consulting or AEC industry related work experience.
- Interest in Geotechnical and Environmental projects.
- Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.
- Computer skills with Bluebeam, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and MS Project.
- Proficient technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- OSHA 40-Hour H&S Training desirable.
- Ability to work on a team and independently in a fast-paced consulting environment and ability to review, compile and interpret geologic data to prepare accurate site-models.
