About the Position
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join our growing team. You will be ultimately responsible for bidding on land-clearing construction projects and managing operations at the site when the job begins. The candidate must maintain relationships with current clients and expand our clientele in Texas and surrounding states.
A successful candidate for this position will ensure that the project is completed safely, on schedule and within budget. We expect you to have deep know-how in land clearing and job bidding/estimating practices. As a Project Estimator, you will have the opportunity to use your cost-estimating and project management expertise on land development projects in the greater Austin area. Key Responsibilities
· Independently prepare cost estimates from site walks, plans or other documents.
· Oversee all stages of project life cycle.
· Manage project budget and billings.
· Provide timely status reports to company stakeholders.
· Analyze contractor cost proposals for reasonableness.
· Analyze contractor change proposals for reasonableness.
· Collaborate with other departments regarding expectations for input to estimating process.
· Facilitate group review and presentation of estimates.
· Maintain master estimate files and data relating to estimate.
· Other duties as assigned.
Leadership Responsibilities
The right individual will be self-motivated, a strong collaborator/communicator, able to think creatively and to work with others to find solutions, drive production, and produce quality results. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Education and/or Experience
· 3 to 5 years construction and/or sales experience.
· Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
· Strong knowledge of the industrial construction process and familiarity with labor, material, and equipment pricing conventions
· Ability to travel, company truck provided.
Professional Competencies and Skills
· Must be able to work in a sometimes noisy or dusty indoor and outdoor environment.
· Strong organizational and project management skills.
· Strong technical communication skills required: Excel, Word, etc.
· Ability to tactfully work with speed and self-confidence.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce and maintain data, reports, and statements.
· Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all stakeholders.
· Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly.
· Ability to work effectively handling multiple projects and across multiple management levels.
· Must be able to work flexible hours and sometimes weekends.
· Bilingual a plus.
