Farnsworth Group is seeking an experienced
Project Engineerin either our
Greenwood Village (Denver DTC), Colorado Springs, or Fort Collins, Colorado offices.
Job Activities:
- Perform independent utility research
- Coordinate scheduling of field crews and create scoping exhibits for field work
- Perform field oversight of utility locating and survey crews
- Develop sketches and field notes detailing field findings
- Prepare SUE drawings and reports for the required SUE level
- Coordinate with CAD designers to ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables
- Perform civil design in support of our Land Development and municipal engineering projects
- Perform water and sanitary sewer modeling and prepare utility master plans or reports
- Prepare water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer plan and profiles
- Prepare stormwater/drainage calculations/models and prepare drainage reports
- Prepare grading, drainage, and erosion control plans
Specific Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or an applicable field from an Accredited University
- Successfully passed FE Exam and ability to pursue Professional Engineering license
- Minimum of four years’ experience, including SUE field experience and Utility Coordination/Design
- Willingness and ability to travel on short notice, including overnight travel
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to prepare accurate SUE reports under Colorado Senate Bill 18-167 and ASCE 38-22
- Experience with the data collection and analysis of sub-surface utility markings
- Experience working with plan and profile construction drawings associated with roadway and underground utility improvements within public rights-of-way, and records research
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MicroStation
- Adhere to applicable safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment both in the office and in the field
- Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity
- Motivation to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines
- Desire to collaborate with co-workers and clients to increase your industry knowledge and grow in your career
Desired Skills:
- Professional Engineering License in Colorado, preferred
- Relative experience in civil Land Development and public works projects
- Experience with processing land surveying and mapped utility data/GIS
- Experience with Civil 3D, Microstation InRoads, and OpenRoads

Salary Range: $75,000 - $125,000 annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
