SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
As an entry-level Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our field project team, responsible for designing, planning, and executing engineering projects. If you have experience with hands-on troubleshooting (i.e. fixing cars, installing home appliances, etc.) or real-life problem solving, this job is for you!
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Takes on small to medium equipment modernization and field installation assignments from the Field Engineering Manager and executes the Field Engineering Process (FEP)
- Primary project manager for equipment modernization projects. This includes all project management, customer communication, schedules, seeing builds completed in the shop, shipments, and installation planning.
- Ensure customer site is safe and fully prepared for ASC equipment installation to start.
- Responsible for project financial health and monitoring. Finds ways to save on costs.
- Coordinate local contractors when necessary.
- Visit sites early in projects when necessary to begin planning and assess risks. Works closely with Mechanical Engineer and Electrical Engineer to plan out installation.
- For field builds, assess site layout and provide preliminary sketches for location of materials, trailer, equipment, and vessel.
- Provides expert troubleshooting for problems arising in the field. Communicates problems, recommends solutions, works with field team to execute solutions.
- Monitors changes in scope during installations and writes change orders when needed.
- Proactively plans and writes lift plans.
- Must be the company expert in equipment upgrades, field safety, site preparation, rigging, field fabrications, temporary or customer utility arrangements, permitting and customer site requirements.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 4-year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Entry level up to 3 years relevant experience.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to exercise good judgment, manage/prioritize heavy workload and work independently.
- Must be able to quickly gain knowledge of typical machinery, equipment and tools used for field erected autoclaves.
- Expected to travel/work at field location up to 10-20% of time, however this depends on size and complexity of individual projects. Extended stays at project sites is expected.
- Expected to occasionally work on weekends.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
- 50 wpm typing is required

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
