The company continues to expand rapidly, with a start-up located in Greenville, SC area. The Role:
The Project Engineer will own every technical aspect of sold inverter projects after the purchase order (PO) from customer, until the time that the project is ready to be commissioned or turned on in the field. These projects could be as small as 1-2 inverters, or as large as 100+. This includes detailed coordination with customers of different kinds, from small contractors to large international companies. The Project Engineer will additionally interface internally with sales, project management, engineering, testing, and commissioning teams. The Project Engineer will be trained in the detailed operation of the EPC inverters and other auxiliary equipment so they can convey this information to customers and solve unique problems.
Due to the interactive nature of the role, office work is required most of the time, but EPC is flexible, allowing employees to work from home when needed. The Project Engineer should live close enough to commute to Simpsonville, SC daily.
Responsibilities:
- Own technical aspects of inverter projects from PO until Commissioning
- Coordinate with customers and EPC internal teams to ensure all technical specifications are clear and appropriate – get handoff from sales
- Document, file and organize technical information
- Convey technical specifications to the production and testing departments
- Assist with bills of materials for inverter skid projects
- Attend kick off meetings with customers, as well as all necessary follow up
- Drive and close the technical aspects of change orders
- Lead customer factory acceptance witness testing, in coordination with EPC testing department
- Define inverter operational modes and parameters with customer
- Handoff project to commissioning team
- Process creation and improvement
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Bachelor's degree in some engineering field, ideally electrical or mechanical
- 1-5+ years in renewable energy industry a plus, but willing to consider recent graduates and others
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in fast paced environment
- Knowledge of and experience with microgrids
- Strong interpersonal skills & good Customer Service mentality
- Proactive attitude
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Experience in Microsoft and Google environments
