Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT), named a “Zweig Group’s “Best Firms to Work For.” is a consulting firm with a team of engineers, planners and other related design professionals is actively seeking to add an 8-year talented Project Engineer to our Northern, IL team. This role will support all levels of staff within the Water Resources team while providing the opportunity to experience new challenges in a dynamic environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate leadership qualities
• Relevant work experience in leading project teams
• Provide planning, design, and construction phase engineering services for public and private infrastructure projects
• Modeling, treatment, pumping, storage, and piping for potable water, stormwater, and wastewater systems
• Representative client sectors include city, state, county, federal, special districts, and commercial/industrial clients.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of experience
• A focus in water resources engineering, which includes potable water, stormwater, and wastewater
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois (or on track for licensure)
• Strong knowledge of and experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and/or GIS software packages
• Strong professional network required along with participation in professional organizations for continuous improvement of technical skills
• Experience with process mechanical design such as hydrology, hydraulics, and modeling
• Experience and knowledge of permitting process with regulatory agencies
• Experience with public infrastructure or public utilities
• Experience in writing proposals, reports, and engineering project documents
• Excellent oral and written communications
