We are seeking a Project Designer who is responsible for leading multiple design projects and people/teams from concept to completion. They lead, motivate, manage, and coach the team to ensure that the design vision comes to life within Bluebell’s aesthetic parameters, customer requirements, and time and budget specifications. The Project Designer defines project requirements, schedules, and budgets on all aspects of the project. They execute or lead/oversee every step in the process to achieve project goals and are responsible for ensuring the project is successfully completed on time and on budget. They anticipate and overcome obstacles and challenges. They ensure the project is profitable per the firm’s profit guidelines and goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Required 3-5 years experience and proficiency with Auto-CAD
- Preferred 3-5 years experience and proficiency with Google SketchUp
- Required 3-5 years experience with cabinet design and ordering; must be able to produce orders from drawings.
- Required 3-5 years experience: Ability to create shop-ready drawings.
- Required 3-5 years experience: Ability to use pricing software to price projects (training on software provided).
- Required: Strong organizational skills and ability to successfully manage multiple projects at a time
- Required: Must have knowledge of design process, principles, construction methods, creating detailed construction drawings with proper notation.
- Required: Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design
- Preferred: 3 to 5 years’ experience in kitchen design

RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Lead, execute, and manage profitable design projects
- Communicate/collaborate with Creative Director on job concept and project goals
- Develop timeline in coordination with architects and contractors and determine target dates for deliverables; Work with contractors to create realistic schedule/timeline of job to ensure all parties have same expectations
- Prepare client proposals for approval
- Update client budgets and specifications throughout project
- Ensure materials and selections are within profit margin specifications
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Identify potential issues that may delay the project and take proactive steps to resolve them
- Address issues that arise promptly and take initiative and ownership to create a solution
- Ensure projects are on target, high quality, on time, and profitable
2) Manage design process from start to finish, including but not limited to:
- Create design concepts in collaboration with the Creative Director
- Specify cabinetry, countertops, appliances, accessories, etc. required for each project
- Prepare accurate and professional proposals for approval
- Ensure materials and selections are within profit margin specifications
3) Lead team to execute projects in a positive, professional, profitable manner
- Lead, coach, train, and mentor design team in the successful execution of tasks
- Oversee design work to ensure design intent is met and the Bluebell brand is maintained
- Monitor ongoing progress of design team work and provide performance feedback and coaching; ensure team meets schedule and project specifications
- Provide clear, proactive, direct, frequent communication and interface with team
4) Establish positive, professional client, contractor, and vendor relations
- Lead client meetings and present content in a positive, professional manner

- Provide weekly status updates d. Inform Creative Director, clients, and vendors of changes
- Analyze and resolve complex technical, design, and installation issues
- Trouble shoot and address problems in a pro-active, professional manner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
