Assist the Program Manager in managing and coordinating Apprenticeship Programs, including the Electrical and Plumbing Apprenticeship program, in collaboration with the Vermont Department of Labor (VDOL).
JOB DUTIES & CHARACTERISTICS
•Assist with recruitment of instructors, to include hiring committee participation.
•Assist and/or oversee various Apprenticeship Program related activities, including exam prep, code updates, training initiatives that meet grant objectives, graduation coordination, and participation.
•Help create various apprenticeship documents, including agreements, forms, calendars, databases, etc.
•Active participation with instructors and students, including troubleshooting easily resolved IT (Information Technology) issues regarding VTSU (Vermont State University) network, OSHA 10, Canvas, and/or Zoom access.
•Coordinate and perform program audits, including first day/night, and any required throughout grant duration.
•Assist and perform instructor observations to ensure quality and timely delivery of classroom instruction, grant outcomes, and objectives are met.
•Assist with academic support coordination, including meeting with participants to determine the best referral path (e.g., referrals to the Program Manager, Disabilities Coordinator, IT, VCAP Manager, VDOL, etc.).
•Process attendance and assist in reporting to employer sponsors, VDOL, etc.
•Prepare and distribute midterm and final exams. Assist with final grade audits for submittal to VDOL, and any additional required parties.
•Assist in monitoring academic progress, including issuing early and midterm warnings and sending documentation to required parties.
•Coordinate instructor/facilitator meetings to update curriculum and ensure grant objectives and workforce needs are met.
•Assist with website content updates.
•Assist in the development and execution of Diversity & Harassment Awareness training, including verifying the completion of training by all apprentices.
•Maintenance and development of the apprenticeship registration system(s).
•This position will require occasional travel to training locations and meetings. Occasional evening and weekend work, including an evening on-call schedule, an evening graduation ceremony, and weekend training sessions, is also required.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in education, business or marketing or other appropriate discipline with one to two years of relevant experience in a college/continuing education environment or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are required.
•Strong technical knowledge related to the various trades desired.
