What You'll Do:
The Project Accountant will support the Denton House Design team and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects, supporting project managers, investigating variances, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected. You need to love collaborating, finding creative solutions, improving processes, and helping to make your internal clients' lives easier.
Core Responsibilities and Expectations:
Work closely with your internal clients: management, project managers and designers to ensure accurate and consistent billing and financial reporting at the project level
- Generate project profitability metrics and review them with your internal clients
- Create contracts and review budgets and send them out for approval
- Maintain organized project contract files
- Provide accurate invoices to clients per contract terms
- Perform client reconciliations and generate final billing. Research and respond to client questions
- Perform month-end responsibilities including balance sheet account reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and fixed asset tracking
- Prepare journal entries
- Monitor project accounts receivable and drive collection efforts
- Compile reports for management and perform other ad hoc duties as requested

- Bachelor's degree in accounting/related field or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of related accounting experience
- Must be proficient in Word and Excel, pivot tables, vlookup and intermediate excel functions Experience using Deltek and or VantagePoint a plus
- Seeks ways to achieve better results through leveraging technologies and process improvement
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage different personality types and convey financial information in a simplistic manner to internal clients
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail while working under pressure to complete multiple tasks with competing deadlines
- Excellent references who speak to the quality of your work and your personal contributions to business performance and organizational culture
- Self-starter and team player with demonstrated initiative to identify improvement opportunities
- Willing to work overtime to ensure deadlines are met
- Must be a flexible individual who adapts successfully and positively to changing timelines and environments
- Must have the ability to take on new challenges on short notice and deals well with changing priorities and workloads
