Programmer I - Information Systems - 007

JOB SUMMARY: The Programmer I position involves creating, manipulating, and enhancing database software, correcting problems with software, and assisting other LSBC personnel with problem determination.

• Perform a variety of complicated tasks while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Primary responsibility will be to support the TIER software projects
• Coordinate communications with departments for integration of solutions for the best possible use of LSBC computer resources
• Answer on-call questions for software and hardware solutions and provide support for software and hardware problems
• Perform specialized technical work in administering LSBC intranet and internet websites Maintain daily, weekly and monthly website updates presented by LSBC departments
• Aptitude, Attitude and desire to learn to code.
• Elementrary knowledge of Visual Studio, VB.Net, ASP, XML, XHTML/CSS, Actionscript, SQL Server.
• Create/update simple reports in Crystal/SQL/Tier.
• MS-Access and relational database knowledge expected.
• Follow IT procedures for personnel to ensure a professional and timely response to support requests. Provide telephone and email support for all supported applications. Maintain work orders and properly document.
• Ability to document in a simple and understandable format
• Assists in maintaining a common library for documentation of software, current and proposed website designs, database layouts, and website changes.
• Understand and explain work flow processes.
• Able to follow instructions and work independently upon determination of tasks.
• Assist DBA as required.
• Fill in for Help Desk area as needed.
• Performs related work as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Education:

• Associate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or related field is required

• Experience:

• Minimum of One (1) year of experience, preferably in a healthcare setting required
• Experience with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures are essential
• Elementary knowledge ofwebsite layout, design, and development is essential
• Experience in browser-based programming including database access is helpful
• Knowledge and experience with XHTML, XML, ASP, VB.Net, VBScript, SQL Server is requested
• Knowledge of databases, client/server systems and Web Development is also a plus
  

• Driving Requirements

• o Must be Over the age of 21 required
  o Minimum of 5-years driving experience required
  o Possess a Valid FL Driver's license (within 30 days of hire if currently do not possess)
  o Possess a continuously valid US Driver's license for the past three years, from date of issue required
  o Safe Driving record required

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT: Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually. Other training and/or professional development may be assigned due to evolution of programs.
