Job Description:
The PSS Engineering department provides project, site and integration engineering services using various PLC platforms. ECI engineers leverage their expertise and knowledge of Process Control systems and automation across multiple process industries. As a member of this department, you will work in a team environment on process automation projects for our install-based customers. This position will focus on the PLC opportunities for all ECI locations.
This position will pursue development to take on a lead role in the design, installation and maintenance of industrial PLC Process Control systems to support customers on their journey to digital transformation. You will develop the technical skills to envision, design, commission, start-up and maintain various PLC platforms and human machine inerfaces. DeltaV distributed control system training and opportunities will be assigned when PLC scheduling permits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop technical skills in automation engineering though dynamic training and development including e-learning, in-person courses and hands-on experience in the office and at complex industrial facilities
- Work in PLC platforms and HMIs and various versions of the software and hardware
- Learn to integrate PLCs with DeltaV and other software for control, monitoring and history collection
- Participate in customer site activities, including control system commissioning and startup, industrial software, and system modernization/migrations
- Understand the project scope, schedule, budget and expectations of quality, and practice the ECI culture and procedures to meet customer needs
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will possess a bachelors degree in chemical, industrial, electrical, computer or mechanical engineering or mechatronics
- Has troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and the ability to think logically and systematically
- Has up to two years of work experience in a related field
- Possesses the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. (i.e., workstation and server class computers)
- Possesses the ability to work extended hours on a computer, and in an industrial environment
- Must have full-time access to a personal vehicle
- Must have a credit card for business travel
- Must be willing to provide on-site support which may require overnight travel (~ 25% overnight travel)
