We are seeking an individual who embodies compassion, responsibility, adaptability, and dependability to support the NVCSS Housing Department in various administrative tasks. The primary focus of this role is to maintain tenant files, process re-certifications, assist in management, reporting, and compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation, actively pursue personal and professional development, and contribute valuable insights to enhance departmental operational efficiency.
Examples of Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service by managing phone calls, addressing in-person inquiries, and assisting staff and tenants
- Assist in the completion of all required Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) documents
- Compile, update, and maintain records, including tenant files, as mandated by HUD and other funding sources
- Collect tenant rent, issue receipts, and prepare deposits using property management software
- Conduct move-in and move-out inspections to assess deductions and ensure property condition
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies and laws
- Conduct research and stay informed about federal fair housing laws and local housing provisions
- Perform general clerical and administrative duties, including program mailings, data entry, and generating reports
- Contribute to special and routine projects and perform other assigned duties
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates' Degree preferred. Familiarity with general ledgers and budgeting concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft and Google platforms. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional organizational abilities, problem-solving and reasoning skills, active listening, and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks while meeting productivity standards. Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of acquired information and documentation. Experience with or willingness to undergo training on fair housing and tenant-landlord laws. Experience working with HUD programs is preferred. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel as needed.
