Overview

Axient is seeking a Program Support Specialist to support our customer in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

 

  • Major area of support sees the Program Support Specialist performing shared duties as Organizational Defense Travel Administrator (ODTA) for the Defense Travel System (DTS) within PEO M&S.  
  • Employee is responsible for control and coordination of all required actions to support the successful deployment, operation and management of DTS tasks for designated PEO M&S US Military and Department of the Army (DA) Civilian personnel.
  • Employee will support initial and sustainment training for use of the DTS, and monitors requests end-to-end, and providing rapid resolution of travel issues before and during personnel missions. 
  • Individual is detail oriented and does not hesitate to offer/perform correction if an inaccuracy presents itself. 
  • Individual serves as member of the Mission Support Office Integrated Product Team (MSO IPT). 
  • Employee also coordinates Automated Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS) activities/entries for PEO M&S US Military and Department of the Army (DA) Civilian personnel. 
  •  As an Program Support Specialist, employee tracks government requirements to ensure maximum relevance and value for support offered by the team and leverage this information to support enhancement of job descriptions/hiring requests.
  • Performs in/out-processing tasks for PEO M&S US Military and Department of the Army (DA) Civilian, and Contractor personnel. 
  • In/Out-processing tasks in include issuing property (monitors, phones, desks, computer accessories, etc.) via Army Stationing and Installation Management Plan (ASIP) , conducting periodic inventory of and replacement and/or purchase of aforementioned property, and collecting property to include accountable access artifacts (e.g. badges, keys, fobs, etc.) during out-processing.
  • Employee will ensure the PEO M&S Occupancy Chart is updated in conjunction with all personnel changes.
  • The Program Support Specialist has deep experience in strategic communications, developing/assessing content requirements for white papers, presentations, and other artifacts to ensure relevance, value, accuracy, and readiness. 
  • Maintains all required documents in accordance with Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS).
  • Oversees and is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of office files (i.e., general office correspondence, periodic and special reports, congressional correspondence, emergency manuals, budgetary data, awards, etc.).
  • Ensures that necessary changes, amendments, deletions, and recessions are accurately and timely posted.
  • Makes appropriate distribution of the material. Initiates action to dispose of inactive material consistent with current Army Filing System. 
  • Performs deadline enforcement, proofreading, formatting, and editing as needed/requested.

WORK ARRANGEMENT:

  • Customer requires maximum responsiveness, often with classified efforts, therefore the ability to work in-person on-site is a bona fide occupational requirement for employment.
  • Customer indicates that telework may be authorized with government approval on a case-by-case temporary basis, but no opportunity for permanent remote/telework exists in this position.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Associate's Degree or higher in relevant discipline from an accredited educational institution (experience may be substituted for education at Government's discretion)
  • Able to demonstrate public speaking and writing ability on demand
  • Must have an active and transferrable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level.  Must be able to maintain the required clearance

  • Pass a background & credit check
  • Experience with strategic communications
  • Experience with DTS at the administrator level
  • Ability to function as part of a team, with minimal oversight
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance/attire
  • Ability to function under pressure while maintaining professionalism

PREFERRED:

  • Possess Active Secret Clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI clearance
  • 5 years' experience working directly/in conjunction with US Military entities at the headquarters level in similar role
  • Able to train others on DTS use
  • Experience with inventory management processes and systems

 

Must meet applicable COVID safety requirements and protocols
