Program Resource Associate

The New Vecinos Program will empower residents to own their own journey towards independence while taking advantage of the varied and impactful services provided by Illinois Department of Human Services partners including New Life Centers. New Life Centers will provide direct services related to holistic wellness and community connections that provide a safety net of support for our new neighbors in the Chicagoland area. Programming and connections will aim at the development of life skills necessary for resiliency and forward movement, will help build community to mitigate isolation and anxiety, will promote wellness and mental health, and will help serve as a deterrent to violence and domestic abuse.

Position Summary

The Program Resource Associate position is full-time, temporary, 40 hours per week (non-exempt) and will primarily take place in the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs. The Program Resource Associate will assist the Program Resource Managers and the New Vecinos team with daily tasks to ensure a safe, positive experience for program participants. This position will also focus on creating linkages with program participants, local residents, and community resources. This position will help match the needs of residents with a safety-net of resources like home furnishings, supplies for basic needs, etc. Will require some local travel (reimbursable) and access to a vehicle. Pay commensurate with experience. This position is in-person.

Job Responsibilities

• Cooperates on a team that provides direct case-management and support services to our neighbors.
• Keeps organized record of in-kind donated and outgoing donations.
• Keeps an accurate count of inventory and needs.
• Communicates when certain supplies are low.
• Keeps an organized mapping of where different resources are located in storage unit(s) or warehouse(s).
• May pack specific boxes or containers with supplies.
• Will pull specific donations from storage for movers.
• Assists data team with data collection and required reporting.
• Identifies and addresses safety concerns with Supervisor, immediately.
• Will be trained on how to use inventory tools/software.
• Maintains accuracy of budget and spending plan. Stays within given budget. Where applicable.
• Participates in all required evaluations, tours, and audits.
• Demonstrates New Life Centers’ values.
• Attends required meetings and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Skills & Qualifications

• Must become a Certified Mandated Reporter. Training provided.
• Must pass a background check, must not have any pending cases.
• Must pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System background check.
• Must pass a National Sex Offender Registry background check.
• Must have a working phone and phone number.
• Must have stamina and be physically fit to perform manual duties that often require strength.
• Heavy equipment operator certification preferred.
• One year experience working in the human services field in a capacity that involves direct services to at-risk youth.
• Cross-cultural competency.
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Detail orientated.
• Must be willing to be trained, and proficiently utilize database(s) and information tracking systems relevant to duties.
• Must keep confidentiality of participant information.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license, insurance, good driving record, access to a vehicle. Subject to driving background check.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
