INNOVIM is seeking Program Operations Services for NOAANational Integrated Drought Information System to support the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI).
The Program Operations Services shall:
- Provide science, stewardship and support Services for the NIDIS portal (Drought.gov)
- Develop content management solutions for products utilizing geographic Information Systems.
- Develop content management solutions for Drought.gov that fully leverages current interoperable technologies and databases.
- Develop content management solutions for data visualization including techniques to dynamically display data and metadata, and allowing users to custom graph and display data (e.g. color-coding temperatures).
- Design, develop, and maintain content management solutions for compatibility with its target host environment(s), interoperability with associated commercial software, and interfaces with external data and services.
- Implement within drought.gov a decision-support structure for national and specific regional groups that meets NIDIS Program requirements
- Receive and manage data received from intergovernmental and international sources for the purpose of ensuring its low-latency display to Drought.gov operational users.
- Manage drought.gov content for regional decision-support
- Develop web-based applications for portraying Drought Information and data in drought.gov.
- Operate and maintain the drought.gov website for functionality, upgrades, and development and integration of new tools.
- Develop drought related products and services.
- Compute derived drought-related products.
- Document and publish code used in calculating drought related products for both NCEI internal and external use.
- Develop software that is compatible with NCEI modernization efforts for generating drought-related products and services.
- Provide recommendations to NCEI for improved coding practices for scientific software applications.
- Develop data delivery systems and analyses for improved monitoring of U.S. weather events for climatological applications.
- Develop and maintain algorithms and functions for climate data analysis.
Experience:
- 5 - 10 years of experience
- BS degree in related field
- MUST be a US Citizen
