SUMMARY
The Program Manager – Cadet Leadership Camps is a youth-serving professional with expertise in Positive Youth Development, experiential learning (Kolb), and program management in camp settings. This person will lead the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) cadet community in elevating the performance of existing youth leadership and character development camps across the country, while also scaling-up nascent programming and aligning it with the overall Cadet Leadership and character curriculum. CAP’s camp program currently serves 10,000 mostly teenaged youth at 90 camps nation-wide each year.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree (any field) required. Master’s Degree in Education, Youth Development or Services, Recreation, or a similar field is highly desired.
- Three years’ full-time experience or seven years’ part-time experience in leading youth camp programs, with a demonstrated ability to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Prior experience in CAP Cadet Programs is desired.
- Experience developing programming for youth and adult camp leaders. (portfolio submissions requested)
- Working knowledge of strategies for youth sexual abuse prevention and response, anti-hazing, anti-bullying, and risk management knowledge in high adventure youth settings.
- Expert written communication skills (e.g., technical manuals, white papers, emails)
- Expert oral communication skills (e.g., webinars, in-person workshops, briefings to senior leaders)
- Proficiency in MS Office to include Teams and PowerBI.
